Dr. Oluwafemi Lawrence ADEBAYO was born at Agbado Ekiti on March 22nd, 1969. He had his primary and secondary Education between 1975 and 1986 before he proceeded to Ondo State University, Ado Ekiti now Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti in 1988 and graduated in 1993 with Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. He did the one-year youth Service at Government Secondary School, Ihugh, Benue State between 1994 and 1995. He had his Master of Science degree in Chemistry from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State in the year 2014 with Ph.D grade . He put in for admission into Doctor of philosophy in Chemistry at Federal University of Technology, Akure Ondo State in the year 2015 which was successful. In the year 2018, through the assistance of the Federal Government of Nigeria, he travelled to United Kingdom to carry out the Ph.D laboratory analysis of his research topic at the Department of Chemical Sciences, University of Stracthclyde, Glasgow, United Kingdom for a period of one year after which he came back for the defence and graduated at Federal University of Technology, Akure in the year 2021. He worked as a Higher Executive Officer at Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission Ado Ekiti between January 2002 to May 2004. He joined the services of the defunct College of Education, Ikere Ekiti on 16th of June 2004 as a Graduate Assistance in the Department of Chemistry. Presently he is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Chemical Sciences, Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere Ekiti. He is happily married with Children. Dr Adebayo is currently the Ag. HOD of the department of Chemical Sciences, Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere – Ekiti
The The Department of Chemical Sciences came into being in 2020 when the defunct College of Education, Ikere – Ekiti transited into Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere – Ekiti (BOUESTI). It is one of the pioneer departments in the School of Pure and Applied Sciences, BOUESTI. Currently, the department houses B.Sc. Industrial Chemistry programme.
